Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) are elective programs in which students live together in a residence hall, share common academic interests, participate in specially tailored small first-year classes, have unique access to faculty, and engage in co-curricular activities that reinforce the program’s academic theme.

Doing a late night study session? Meet in the residence hall instead of across campus. Need to talk to your professor? Meet with them in your residence hall, too. Need help navigating the university or academic issues?ÌýDrop in to see the RAP program coordinatorÌýwhose office is in the hall as well.

RAPs combine academics with where you live, giving you a great start at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ.

What are some of the valuable learning outcomes specific to RAP programming?

By the end of the year, participants in the Residential Academic Programs will:

  • Value active participation in their classes, know how to take advantage of faculty office hours andÌýother forms of academic support, and have well-developed time budgeting skills
  • Understand what academic skills are necessary in order to meet academic expectations and be academically successful
  • Know the non-academic support systems on campus and how to access them
  • Be a contributing member of the residence hall and campus community by feeling connected and forming positive relationships with faculty, staff and students
  • Have an understanding of campus culture, opportunities, policies, procedures and expectations of a major research university, like Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder

Other benefits associated with A&S RAP programming

  • Our academically-enriched community leads to increased student retention and higher GPAs
  • Enroll in small seminar-style classes that fulfill Arts & Sciences General Education requirements
  • A close-knit academic community is formed by taking classes with your neighbors in the residence hall
  • Co-curricular activities provide broad exposure to university culture and intellectual life
  • Faculty and staff have offices in the building to assist students with personal, socialÌýand academic questions.
