The Boulder Faculty Assembly has announced the 2014 recipients of the BFA Excellence Awards. These are the highest awards given by the BFA and recognize faculty for efforts in teaching, research and creative work, and service and leadership. Awardees are nominated by their peers and have demonstrated continued excellence in these areas.

Prof. Fornberg is one of four 欧美口爆视频 Boulder faculty members to win the BFA Award for Excellence in Research, Scholarly, and Creative Work. He has made major contributions in the field of numerical computation, including important research in Fourier pseudo-spectral methodology, radial basis function methods, and numerical conformal mapping. His book,聽A Practical Guide to Pseudospectral Methods, has been cited over a thousand times. Recent work on applying gridless interpolating methods using radial basis functions to numerical solutions of partial differential equations has attracted considerable interest in the STEM fields.

Professor Fornberg has also been selected for the聽聽of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics for outstanding contributions in "spectral methods, radial basis functions, and other methods for computational fluid dynamics and partial differential equations."

Join us in congratulating Bengt Fornberg for this award and his superlative achievements!
